Our Turkey Day

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We kicked off the day at the Troy Turkey Trot, where Seamus and Grace ran the kids’ mile run.  The Trot is lots of fun…so many crazy characters and costumes to see!

Southpaw, Puckman, a chicken…

A viking, giant turkey hats…

And the Smile Monster!!  The kids love seeing all the mascots.

Here’s Seamus and Grace with our friend Lou, the mayor of Troy!

The kids couldn’t wait to dress up this year for the run!  Grace wore her ballerina costume, and it was so cool to hear all the people on the sidelines yelling to her about how cute she looked!

021

Seamus insisted on being a basketball player…although he did say next year he’s planning to wear something a little crazier!

025

The kids did great on the run and we had so much fun.  Over 6,000 people participate in the races of the Turkey Trot and we are proud to be a part of it!

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house for the first time and it was wonderful!  Unfortunately no pics from the rest of the day, but we enjoyed counting our blessings and being together!

Going to the Hop!

One of our favorite nights of the year is the Sacred Heart School Sock Hop!  It is so much fun to get all dressed up and dance the night away!

The boys were looking super cool with their leather jackets and spiked hair!

Grace just loved wearing a poodle skirt!

The kids stayed on the dance floor all night…I couldn’t drag them away!  Doing the Cupid Shuffle…

And Liam showing off his “Gangnam Style” moves!

LPA Fall Regional 2012

Our fall regional finally arrived and was over in the blink of an eye!  Our Mohawk Valley chapter has been hard at work on the regional for over a year, and I’m happy to say it was a very successful weekend!

While I didn’t get to take as many pictures as I would have liked, I did manage to capture some of our fun.  We had an amazing time!

The Dwarfism Awareness car made an appearance, we had awesome vendors, medical appointments with Dr. Ain and Dr. Mackenzie, amazing raffles, and outings to the museum, casino and laser tag.  Our “Night at the Races” theme banquet had trivia games, a hat contest, face painting, henna tattoos, caricature artist, photo booth, and of course - dancing, dancing, dancing!  Thanks to everyone in D2 who traveled to spend the weekend with us!!!

Happy Halloween 2012

Hooray for Halloween!  We had a great one!

Seamus and Grace were excited for the fun day at school.

015

Here’s how Liam felt about posing for pictures in the morning :-)

016

However, when the afternoon rolled around and he got to put on his skunk costume, he was all for it!  It took him about two minutes to understand that if he said “Trick or Treat,” he would get candy in his bucket!

024

My lovely mermaid, my little stinker, and Neil Armstrong.

038

Seamus was no ordinary astronaut…he was Neil Armstrong!  He carried the American flag and even memorized the “One small step” quote.

044

It was so cold and my poor mermaid was freezing, but she was determined that everyone would get to see her beautiful costume!

029

This was the most fun year yet, because all 3 were so into it.  After every house, Liam would turn to us and shout “Dey gave me tricka treat!!!”   He was so surprised at every door!

056

Happy Halloween!  Hope you all had a wonderful night!
