LPA 2013 National Convention

This year we were blessed to be able to attend the 2013 LPA National Convention in Washington, DC!  We had such a great time!

We started out our adventure by spending the night with the Greene family in MD.  We were so excited to visit with our friends, plus it made it much easier to get into DC on Monday morning and have a full day there.

We celebrated Seamus and Simon’s July birthdays!  Nanny made them special beach bear cupcakes!

The kids had a ball playing, eating, and having a scavenger hunt!  It was a great night with our friends!  After an awesome pancake breakfast, we drove into DC and found our hotel.

We wasted no time and immediately jumped on a shuttle with lots of friends to head to some museums!036

It was craaazzzy humid in DC, so we also had tons of fun at the hotel pool!

As with every convention, sometimes the most fun is just hanging around in the lobby with friends!

Bye-Bye Butterflies

Each year my mom gives the kids a butterfly garden.  We send away for the caterpillars and watch them crawl around, and then eventually turn into cocoons.  We place them inside the butterfly garden and then hopefully get to catch one of them emerging from the cocoon as a beautiful butterfly!

The kids love watching the evolution from caterpillar to butterfly.  One early morning it was time to let our beautiful butterflies go.

They each got to hold one and then release them into the sky.
