Of course, like all of our family traditions, we have continued this one with Seamus and Grace as well!
Here's Seamus making his very first picks at 5 weeks old.
At one year old, with a little more experience, letting us know which horse he wants to bet.
Showing Grace how to pick a winner on her very first outing to the track.
Last year's racing season, taking a break after a fun day of betting!
Now at four, he's a pro!
So, while we don't usually leave as big winners, we sure have a fun time at the track!

Hello
I have been reading different blogs regarding achondroplasia as we just had our first son in July and found that he has achondroplasia. We live in Rochester, NY and I saw that you are also from NY. It is nice to read stories of those who have experienced what we are going through! I love your blog and your son is adorable!
To Aimee: Where in Rochester? We live in Albany, but I'm originally from Honeoye Falls, and my family still lives there. Our daughter, Julia, is 23 mos. tomorrow, and has achondroplasia. I know how overwhelming it can sometimes be, getting used to your first baby plus getting the diagnosis. Feel free to email me if you feel like chatting!
Very awesome! I love the pic of your two cuties hugging at the fence! Adorable!!!
Ha! I LOVE this post! He is quite the little gambler! I'm taking him to vegas with me!
I love Seamus through the years at the race track...he is awesome!!! When I read your title I thought you were going to chat about NASCAR....wouldn't that be fun!!!
How fun! One of the Disney resorts we stay in is modeled after Saratoga, NY (it's called Saratoga Springs)...how neat that you live near there! I love how you have all your family traditions...living down here, away from where I grew up it's hard to do that. And as usual you all look great :)
What a fun tradition to carry on with your kids! I love all of the pictures of Seamus making his picks over the years, and the picture of him and Grace hugging and putting their chins on the fence is too adorable!
Ok so this is my third attempt at leaving a comment. ARGH blogger. Anyway I love these pictures so much and the Seamus pic at the track circa one year is my all time fave. I remember that Kodak album. I love the interaction between your kids. I am sure they have their moments when they don't get along, but wow-they are too cute for words. One day we will have to go to the track with you and ask Seamus how to place our bets!
It was a hot - but still very "cool" day once again at the track tradition. Do you have the pic of me, Seamus and Angel Cordero when Seamus was 6 months old - plus the autographed program from the day? Don't forget how I taught Seamus another invaluable lesson on how to shout "Come on baby..Come On !!!" while hitting his knee with the program as the horses fly down to the stretch !
Next year I hope to add holding a beer while doing the above - these are very important life lessons from the Poppy !!!
I love the, through the years pics. What a stud that Seamus is! I'll have to remember to call on him the next time I place a bet at the races. Looks like you all had a fab time!
Emily!
What a fun tradition! I love Seamus and his awesome grin with the binoculars ~ what a character! Great family photo ... there's your Christmas card :0)
What fun! I'm always way to nervous to go to the track....I am sick over worrying that a horse will get hurt (I've got issues, I know)! Love the pictures of the kids, they are so adorable!
