A Dino Adventure

Thursday night, some very special visitors came to Albany...

Seamus and Poppy got the opportunity to go check out this amazing show, called Walking with Dinosaurs. Seamus was psyched to see some real "live" dinos, and couldn't wait for the show. He was enthralled with most of it, as you can see...
Until the Tyrannosaurus Rex came out. Then things went a little downhill. The show was not meant to be frightening, but my dad said it felt a little like the scene in Jurassic Park where the kids are trapped in the jeep and the T-Rex is just towering over them. Seamus got quite freaked out and the tears started to flow, and I think Poppy might have cried a little too.
All in all, it was a great experience, and Seamus talked happily about seeing the dinosaurs. Here he is on the ride home...I guess being scared half to death will wear you out a little bit.

While Seamus and Poppy had their dino date, Grace and I went to Sacred Heart's 6th grade graduation. Devon has taught 6th grade for 4 years now, yet I have never been able to make it to a graduation, so I was very excited to go. The kids always pick two special songs to sing to their parents, and they were so cute singing and performing their chosen songs.

The first song was called "The Best Day" by Taylor Swift. Oh. my. goodness. I sobbed. Through the whole song. And I don't even have a kid graduating! You must go listen to it - here.

Or don't. Especially if the thought of your little babies growing up makes your heart break into a million pieces. Yeah, in that case, I'd definitely skip it.

Just a few pics of me and my Gigi girl. She loves taking these pictures now - the "arm around the neck pit-chers" as she calls them.

"And I didn't know if you knew, so I'm takin' this chance to say
That I had the best day with you today."

Aidan is a bit taken by dinosaurs lately, I wonder how he would have reacted to the big T-Rex. What adorable mother-daughter pictures...Gigi is such a lil cutie!

Love the pictures of you and Gigi! Oh they are so cute! Poor Seamus getting scared-but shame on the people putting on the show-they had to know that would scare the living daylights out of some of the kids. Your dad is awesome. He and Seamus have the best relationship. I am also hoping that is a vintage Brooklyn Dodgers hat and not a Red Sux hat! I am so excited to see you guys! Does Seamus have something special on his birthday list????

Glad the overall Seamus rating on the dinos was good! Love those pics of you and Gigi! I have a strip of similar photos of Taylor and I from one of those booths and I just love them!
