A Belated Birthday Post

Seamus is FIVE!  I just can’t believe it.  Five years old seems so grown up to me!  Seamus is a lucky guy, he usually gets to celebrate his birthday multiple times due to the timing of our vacation.

First up was a party in Sherburne thrown by Grandma and Grandpa!

Then just before our big trip, we celebrated locally with a little evening mini golf!

Amazing gift from Nanny and Poppy…a super cool swingset!  Daddy sure had fun putting this together!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us!  Five years has gone by just way too fast!

Living the Beach Life – Part 2

On vacation, most mornings were spent at the beach, and after lunch we tended to hang around by the pool.  Here is how my two kids started out the week – two major pool-phobes who wouldn’t dare venture off the steps.

Then after a few days (and about 47 promised trips to the Dollar Store), take a look at what happened!  They both got brave enough to swim out into the water on their own and they LOVED it.  Actually, Grace basically had to be yanked off the steps and screamed loud enough to warrant a call to CPS – but in the end, she was so very proud of herself!

Living the Beach Life – Part 1

After leaving Nashville, we started the long drive over to Myrtle Beach, SC for the second half of our vacation.  I wish I could say it was uneventful – but somewhere in the twisty, winding roads of the Smoky Mountains, Seamus threw up in the car!  If you know me, you know this is truly one of my nightmares.  We turned off at the next exit, but since we were in the middle of nowhere, there was not a gas station to be seen.  We ended up pulling off the side of the road and washing Seamus and his booster seat off in a CREEK!  In hindsight, I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so flustered at the time that I didn’t think of it!  Had we been near civilization, I would have found the nearest Walmart and bought a new booster seat – heck, if we had been near a Dodge dealership, I probably would have tried to buy a new car!  So not quite the peaceful drive I was imagining, but we made it there in one piece and even found a place to steam clean the interior of the car!

Now for some pictures!

On our first beach day, we got to have a great visit with the Davis family!  Destini, Trace and Taylor came to spend some time in the surf and sand with us, and the boys had a great time.  Hope we can plan this again for next year!

The kids were very attached to their Nashville cowboy hats and insisted on wearing them to the beach!  (Seeing this picture of Grace makes me a little nervous for Spring Break in 15 years!!!)

Myrtle Beach has awesome mini golf courses, so we definitely took advantage!

Seamus even got a hole-in-one!

Loving vacation – more to come!

Goodbye Nashville

We had a wonderful time in Nashville, as we knew we would.  The LPA conventions are such amazing opportunities for meeting new friends, and finally connecting in person with families we have shared our lives with online over several years!

A few more pictures of all our fun:019

A HUGE thank you also to our incredible family and friends who helped make this trip possible!  We are so very blessed to have you in our lives!  We love you!
