This weekend was the time for trying new things…like ice skating! Our awesome school hosts an annual Family Skate Night, and this year we decided we would give it a whirl.
I had no idea how much they were going to love it!!
They started out quite wobbly, and cruised around with help from Daddy and lots of the other kids. (Mommy was too chicken to put skates on.)
But then they got braver and braver, and by the end of the night, Grace was zipping around by herself, and Seamus was almost a pro at scooting the buckets across the ice!
Because of the lack of snow, we were running out of fun winter activities to do…but I think we’ve discovered a new favorite!

I love your title to this post ... The Camenga kids are just as cute as the Disney on Ice Crew :0) I'm glad the kids liked it ... and I'm with you, too chicken to put on skates!
In reply to your comment our highs have been low 40's, not warm ... but warm enough for the crocuses to peek out!
I loved ice skating as a kid! Haven't been on ice in a long time though. How cute they look on ice. I'm with Trish...as cut as the Disney on Ice Crew. I venture you'll be back on the ice again soon or rather the kids will.
Awesome!!! Looks like they had a blast! Great pictures! I like the bucket idea, how fun! I still have to do this with my kids! My husband played ice hockey and almost all of our pre-marriage dates consisted of ice skating! We haven't been on the ice for so long, my skates are probably rusting! LOL!
I love it! Look at Grace! That is amazing balance. I am so proud of both of them. So the skates fit Seamus' feet? Because I would love to take Pres skating (if I can find a rink around here) Sorry you have not had a lot of snow, but seriously after four more inches today I am cooked for a long while and very ready for spring!
How fun!! It looks like Seamus and Grace had a blast and did awesome on the ice! Adorable pictures!
I was hoping to take Simon ice skating for the first time this year at the park, but we haven't made it yet. I actually haven't been ice skating in about 10 years, so I'll probably need a bucket to help me out!
Looks like fun! Hope you had fun hanging out by the fire! Way to go Grace and Seamus - the closest ice rink to us is a little over an hour away, but Tay's been bugging me, so we might have to give it a try - hockey skates all around for us!
Oh looks like so much fun!! I loved iceskating when i was younger! Ethan has been asking me to take him the past 2 years, but it makes me nervous since he's so not at all coordinated! lol!
