My Birthday Weekend

It's great to be 28!

This past Saturday I celebrated a great birthday with family, friends...

And a scrumptious Hannaford birthday cake. (Have I mentioned I love Hannaford?)

Then this lucky mommy took off for a weekend in NYC with two of my college housemates. We had a great time catching up and wandering the city.

I've decided to embrace getting older, although I am now being faced with the realization that my body is turning against me.

Like when I put on eyeshadow in the morning...after I sweep the makeup brush across my eyelid, the skin stays all bunched up at the outer corner of my lid. And I have to blink a few times to smooth it out again.

Is that reality smackin' me right in the face or what??

Your still a baby! 28!! Oh, how I cried when I turned 29, then the following year 29 wasn't so bad. Now 4 years into it, 29 is GREAT!

Glad you had a fantastic birthday!!

I cannot deal with the smile lines around my eyes-love the name they are nothing to smile about, so your quote about your eyelids made me laugh! I loved Hannaford too during my Albany days. To think I spent 6 years up there like not far from you and we meet in the future!
Glad you had a great birthday and yes let us pick a night to chat this week or this weekend? I am sad we will not be making Thomas this year :-(

Happy B-day!! Getting older is not that bad. Heck, you have a good two years before you hit the grand old age of 30. Except I don't know where the "older and wiser" cliche comes from. I keep getting older but not any wiser. In fact, I think I'm losing brain cells b/c my memory is shot. I keep blaming it on the kids but maybe it's age. See! Like I said, getting older is not that bad.
:)

BTW...I made penne a la Betsy and it was the bomb! It was so good I made it twice in one week. Thanks for the tip!

Emily!
Glad you had a great birthday! I'm glad you are embracing older .... I don't feel older until I look in the mirror and see grey hairs ~it's awful, then I start to wonder "am I getting old" - What is old? I think it's just a state of mind!
