Living the Beach Life – Part 1

After leaving Nashville, we started the long drive over to Myrtle Beach, SC for the second half of our vacation.  I wish I could say it was uneventful – but somewhere in the twisty, winding roads of the Smoky Mountains, Seamus threw up in the car!  If you know me, you know this is truly one of my nightmares.  We turned off at the next exit, but since we were in the middle of nowhere, there was not a gas station to be seen.  We ended up pulling off the side of the road and washing Seamus and his booster seat off in a CREEK!  In hindsight, I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so flustered at the time that I didn’t think of it!  Had we been near civilization, I would have found the nearest Walmart and bought a new booster seat – heck, if we had been near a Dodge dealership, I probably would have tried to buy a new car!  So not quite the peaceful drive I was imagining, but we made it there in one piece and even found a place to steam clean the interior of the car!

Now for some pictures!

On our first beach day, we got to have a great visit with the Davis family!  Destini, Trace and Taylor came to spend some time in the surf and sand with us, and the boys had a great time.  Hope we can plan this again for next year!

The kids were very attached to their Nashville cowboy hats and insisted on wearing them to the beach!  (Seeing this picture of Grace makes me a little nervous for Spring Break in 15 years!!!)

Myrtle Beach has awesome mini golf courses, so we definitely took advantage!

Trace had a ball playing with Seamus on the beach! Seamus with is "hole-in-one" picture is just too stinking cute! I'm now in trouble because I refused to take the kids mini-golfing!

I finally caught up on all the Nashville posts and this post. I just laughed when you said you'd buy a new car. I am actually cringing for you! So sorry that happened! I love the family picture that ends this blog post. Love love love Trace and Seamus. In that picture of Seamus and Grace on the bench Seamus looks like he is 8 years old! When did he grow up? Yes, Grace will be on spring break, but with two brothers guys will not have a chance (not to mention Devon and your father).
So glad we caught up again at the convention! Feel good!

Ok, I am totally laughing at your comments about Grace's picture and spring break. You will definitely have your hands full with both of them and God help you, now it'll be 3!!
I'm so totally jealous too that you went to Myrtle Beach!! We had to forgo our vacation there this year since we went to Nashville. Lucky, lucky you!!!
Oh and yes, I would want a new car too. That's one of my biggest fears when I have to pick up one of the kids when they are sick. I pray on the entire ride that they wait until we're home to throw up.
Love all the pictures!!

I can imagine the scene washing off in the creek too! Too funny! How awesome that you were able to continue your fun with the Davis family!!! Love all the cute pics!!!

Nasty! Ash is our car puker so I carry bowls in our cars at all times. Otherwise, it looks like a you all had a great time. Myrtle Beach is for sure a destination we will have to go to if we are visiting on the east cost.

Great photos! Sorry to hear that Seamus got sick on the car ride though! So glad you found a steam vac place though! I'm cracking up over your comment about Grace on spring break in 15 years! Yay for being able to meet up with the Davis' the first day there - looks like Seamus and Trace had a lot of fun! Your pictures make me miss Myrtle Beach - we have a bunch of pictures from the great mini golf places there too. Beautiful family photo!

Living the beach life indeed have never been so beautiful and lucky. And although You are just on a beach vacation, just being there makes you feel like you already lived in the beach. As for me, way back years ago, we lived beside the beach and living there never felt so great. But we have to moved into another house for some reasons. But every vacation, we always make it a point to go on a vacation preferably in the beach and have some sweet sailing. The Whitsunday Islands are one of our favorite summer destinations because it just looked so wonderful.
