Our Fall Family Tradition

This past weekend was our annual family picture-taking day in Vermont. For those who do not know, every year since 1982, my parents have driven to Manchester, VT to take a picture of me and my two sisters on a fence outside of the (now gone) Jelly Mill store and restaurant. And when I say, "take a picture," that is a total lie, it was more like 3 or 4 rolls of film.

The awesome thing about this is that now we continue the tradition with Seamus and Grace. Here are a couple of shots from the day!
It was so freezing out! Some years it's close to 80 degrees, some years we have snow. Last year, when I first told you about out tradition in this post, I promised I would eventually share some of those old photos of us on the fence. My sister kindly scanned some of the pics and sent them to me, so we could then share them with you...but be warned! We cannot be held responsible for the crimped hair, bad perms and matching outfits :-)

The photo that started it all...me in 1982.You can usually tell what year it was by what type of hairdo my mom was sporting, but I'll have to get some clarification on these...probably 1987?
The three of us then...
And now!

Cute pictures, when I saw the post title in my reading list, I couldn't believe it had been a whole year since the last post! I will not hold you responsible for your hair and outfits, until you are 15 it is cool to blame your mother. That's what I do, at least!

Vermont looks spectacular. I love the photos. I especially liked looking at your older photos. Your family photo or the first photo would make a great holiday greeting card photo.

Em - love the way you set this up !

Do you give me credit for taking those pictures (and not laughing at Mom's hair)?

Also - you may want to let everyone know the "secret" as to how this great tradition is so well attended each and every year !

Love You ! Poppy

EMILY! Oh my Gosh! I seriously think my mom had the same sweater your mom had but in black! I LOVE IT! All the pics bring back many memories of Katie and I with bad perms, crimped hair and God awful outfits! I love the last pic with Chelsea and Ashley. Great shot of you guys. Tell your dad that I give him all the credit for taking those early pics.
Love the new pics from this year. I think the kiddos look fabulous and I am loving Gigi's outfits. I seriously want that whole get up in my size!

I love this! I remember last years post and I think it's such a cool tradition to carry on! Love the 80's pic's too, they totally remind me of my childhood as well! I swear I had a very similar outfit in 1982, the tights and capris with maryjanes. Great pic's of your cuties!
