I have been interested in the idea of cloth diapering for quite some time. Intimidated, but still quite intrigued. While pregnant with Grace, I spent countless hours on the internet, trying to decipher the code of the cloth diaper underworld.
Pocket, hybrid, AIOs, fitted, birdseye, hemp, Chinese prefolds…were these diapers they were talking about or top-secret government ops??
And once you figure out what all the different types of diapers are, then you have about a zillion and half brands to choose from: FuzziBunz, Happy Heineys, BumGenius, Rumparooz, Knickernappies, Tots Bots…how many cute and clever spins can they come up with for baby butts???
It was all very overwhelming, and I eventually decided to get a pattern and try to sew my own cloth diapers. I made ONE. It now resides on the soft plastic bum of Grace’s favorite doll, Big Baby (I’d show you a picture, but Big Baby is a little scary.)
We eventually scrapped the idea for Baby #2, but when we found out we were expecting Baby #3, I really wanted to give cloth diapering a shot. So I started my internet research again. I reached out for help on Facebook and got the most excellent and awesome advice from a very sweet bloggy friend, Chelsea.
She recommended a Canadian company called ComfyRumps, which she has used on her two adorable boys. I immediately checked out the website and saw the amazing price at which they were selling their diapers (nearly HALF of other popular brands!) and decided to go ahead and order a stash. I am so glad we did!
These diapers are amazingly adorable. They come in a gorgeous rainbow of colors and are a one-size diaper, meaning that they can last from 7 pounds up until the time your baby is 35 pounds.
They are so soft and squishy! We have had zero problems with leaks and we have not had to use diaper rash cream on Liam since he was in the hospital.
They even look cute just sitting in the basket! We have only purchased one box of 86 disposables in the seven weeks since Liam has been born. With 10-12 diaper changes per day, it’s easy to see how many fewer diapers we are throwing away.
They wash up wonderfully and dry super-quick. We use Rockin’ Green soap in our HE washer, and it only takes 1-2 tablespoons per load! Love it!
These diapers rock, and we are so glad we made the jump into cloth diapering. Good for the environment, good for the baby, and dare I say…even a little fun?
Because really, who DOESN’T want to dress up their baby’s bum for the holidays?

Liam is so adorable in his cloth diapers!! We were really happy using cloth diapers with both boys, and neither of them ever had diaper rashes with them. Glad your happy with your choice!

Absolutely adorable! I give you a lot of credit. I'm a big recycler so I cringed with the amount of diapers I threw away but just living in an apartment in NY when Pres was a baby would not have allowed me to do cloth diapers. They are super duper cute and Liam is just a dollface in them!
Soooo very cute!!! We tried cloth with Sonya and did pretty well until her poops got bigger! LOL! We used G diapers and I loved the disposable liners that were flushable and biodegradeble within 14 days. LOVE! I initially tried to sew up some and failed miserably, but it was fun trying! We saved lots of $$$ but not as much as we would have with cloth inserts which they of course now have for the G diaper now that she is potty training. Way to go!!! Love that pumpkin tush! Just checked out your last post too! Looks like the kids had a blast at the sock hop and I love their outfits especially Liams cute little letter sweater!!! Too adorable!!!
